I’m not exactly sure why the story needed this moment other than to continually establish that Joel is like me. I’m always the one guy on the subway train who can’t keep his balance when the train stops abruptly, taking a dive as everyone calmly watches me topple over. I feel him. I like to think there would be hope for me if Bearmageddon struck if I continued to fight my klutzy, pansy tendencies and really seek to fight back. That’s what fantasy is for.
